The TOLx family: TOLL, TOLG, TOLT - A package solution for each high-current design Infineon is the leader in power MOSFET discrete and has successfully introduced game-changing solutions. Since the early 2000s, Infineon offered innovative packages such as clip-based SuperS08 and, more recently, in 2012 introduced high power capability TO-Leadless (TOLL). These innovative products drove the power electronics industry transition towards SMD (surface mount) devices over THD (through-hole) devices. Due to the increased requirements of high current rating, ruggedness, and extended lifetime, Infineon is now announcing the next phase of this transition. Next to the well-established TO-Leadless package, the company recently launched TOLG (TO-leaded with Gullwing) for excellent Thermal Cycling on Board performance (TCoB) and TOLT (TO-leaded Top-side cooling) for superior thermal behavior. These products, available in OptiMOS™ 5 technology, are achieving the highest efficiency and power density and are particularly suitable for applications such as battery management systems (BMS), light electric vehicles (LEVs), e-scooters, forklifts, power and gardening tools, and hot-swap.
